Urgent: Can you adopt, foster, or transport a dog or cat? (Metro NYC area)

I just read a disgusting story about a shelter in Brooklyn which has accepted cash and equipment donations totalling tens of thousands of dollars and proceeded to utterly neglect the animals in its care. If you or anyone you know might be able to help these animals then please contact those trying to help.
