I'm in Paris, but while I'm away, why not check out the stimulating online community MetaFilter. I've read MeFi for a long time before finaly becoming a member a few months ago. The site is full of contentious but intelligent and often fascinating discussion, and it's well worth a look.
No, not of this site. That's in March. Today is my anniversary. Although it means dropping one of the flimsy veils of my online privacy, I'm glad to tell you that I have been very happily married to a wonderful woman for one year today, and we're in Paris right now, celebrating! Hurray!
I'm in Paris, but while I'm away, why not check out a site I read every day, Boing Boing. If you're not already familiar with Boing Boing, you should definitely have a look. This zine turned blog was the first weblog I read regularly and was the principal factor inspiring me to start trying to do this myself. Mark, Cory, and David run a great site. And they post things like this which I haven't had the time to address myself :)

The Museum of Online Museums (MoOM) has an amazing collection of links to online exhibits from museums, collections, and web sites of all sorts.
I'd make this an Aortal link, but it's presented by the ad agency Coudal Partners. Good for them.
Via MeFi.
I wish everyone a peaceful day today.
A wonderfully useful post and discussion at Metafilter point to several resources for identifying the source of a melody.
Specifically, the resources are
The two books are also discussed in this article. Both books look essential, but they are very hard to find. I've seen a copy of the Barlow and Morgenstern, and it does look like a marvelous reference. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled :)
