After taking some pictures of people riding waves (with the digital camera in a waterproof enclosure) I decided to try riding the waves myself. I grabbed this shot as a wave broke on top of me ;). Taken March 10, 2003 (my thirtieth birthday) on Hapuna Beach on the Big Island of Hawai‘i.
